Day 1: VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: Arrival - Ha Noi (-/-/-)

On arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you are met by our guide and transferred to hotel. The capital of Vietnam, Hanoi is a stylish and gracious city that retains an unique old world charm and some Asia's most striking colonial architecture. The many lakes and parks make for relaxing atmosphere. If time permits we enjoy on a short cyclo ride through the bustling old quarter streets named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places.

Day 2: VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: Ha Noi Sightseeing Vacation(B/-/-)

Today we spend a full day exploring the charming Hanoi City. The first stop is Ho Chi Minh Complex containing the mausoleum of the nation's founder Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts. Close to this complex is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of city. We follow it with a visit to the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam and the History Museum with an excellent collection of artifacts illustrating the Vietnamese history. The sightseeing also includes the outlaying Ethnologic Museum, dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. Afterwards we drive back to the town center, stopping at the Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple. They are some major highlights set by the beautiful West Lake. We see these sights before continuing to the peaceful lake of Hoan Kiem with its sacred temple. In front of this lake is the famous water puppet theatre where we will see a fantastic performance.

Day 3: VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: HANOI — DUONG LAM VILLAGE SIGHTSEEING TRIP TO MAI CHAU (B/L/D)

In the morning, we start from Hanoi to Duong Lam village, a purely agricultural village of the DUONGVIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: Duong lam villageNorthern Red River delta where still preserve many hundred-year-old houses. It will be your unique experience as you walk along tiny ancient alleys; visit Mong Phu Communal House in Mong Phu hamlet - the only hamlet whose original village entrance gate remains intact, dedicated to national heroes. Have the opportunity to bike in the village and have some talks with the locals in their ancient houses by visiting the ancient houses of Mr Lam, Mr Ha and Mr Huyen. After that, we continue walking to visit Mia Pagoda (other hamlet in Duong Lam village), is built in 15 th century and admire 287 statues of all sizes, among with are famous sculpture such as the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the statues of the Eight Vajra Deities. Then visit Ngo Quyen temple and Phung Hung temple, places dedicated to two national heroes Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung.
Lastly, we will go back a local family to enjoy your special lunch with Vietnamese foods in an ancient house.
At around 14:00, we will keep heading to Mai Chau valley & view sunset behind the hills. After dinner in a family, we have the opportunity to take part to a traditional dance show.

Day 4: VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: Hanoi - Son La Biking Tours (B/-/-)

This morning we are going to have a short trekking journey (or bike tour) to some of remote VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: SON LAvillages of Thai People inhabiting in Mai Chau valley
The journey northwest begins as we depart from Mai Chau and pass through the undulating terrains of tea plantations, terraced rice fields and sleepy villages linked to the road which is the main artery of trade between the northwestern region and the capital city. This is our first glimpse of rural Vietnam and sets the tone for the days ahead. En route we have several stops to stretch our legs and visit some roadside villages. The thrilling drive will deliver us in Son La by mid or late afternoon depending on road and traffic conditions. We check in hotel and enjoy a short walk around this mountain town. There is a little traffic on roads and many Black Thai in traditional costume scurry in all directions.

Day 5: VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: Son La Adventure Trekking Trips to Dien Bien Phu (B/-/-)

The provincial museum and the top hill old prison are some of major sights in Son La Town. We include these in a short morning tour before we wind our way past the stunning mountain scenery. The road conditions are very poor therefore we need to bring along our spirit of adventure until Dien Bien Phu, the site of the decisive battle in Vietnam's struggle for VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: DIEN BIEN PHUindependence in 1954. Once reaching Dien Dien we drive around to see this fast growing town and make stop at Dien Bien Phu museum which details the event in place. We follow it with a visit to the strategic hill A1 and the old battle field where the lush vegetation grows behind many war relics including old French tanks and artillery pieces.

Day 6: VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: Dien Bien Phu - Tam Duong (B/-/-)

Heading out of Dien Phu Phu Town, we spend a full day travelling into Vietnam's most mountainous region. The roads are difficult at times, but the spectacular landscape with a mixture of terraced fields and colourful local population makes the hardship all worthwhile. Along the way we encounter the mountaineers going about their daily business. These local villagers are almost the Red Hmong, Kho Mu, Mang, Dao people who still retain their age old cultural traditions and wear distinctive costumes. We arrive in Tam Duong by late afternoon and may have time strolling around. This small hill town is surrounded by the breathtaking mountain backdrop and frequently visited by the ethnic minority people. O/N in Tam Duong.

Day 7: VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: Tam Duong - Sapa (B/-/-)

The breathtaking north scenery is unequalled although the conditions are very basic. Today we continue driving along a zigzag route to Sapa. The road conditions is very poor in some places VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: SAPAbut it is still a wonderful trip for photograph hunters as we pass though the various scenic water falls, charming villages and rolling mountains. The hill station of Sa Pa was founded in early last century and rapidly became an ideal place for anyone seeking an enjoyable escape from the unbearable heat in plains. At an elevation of 1,500 meters, it has some warm days and cool evenings. Today we can soak up the fresh climate as much as you want by spending the time to wander around and catch the first look of Sa Pa. The ethnic minority people are frequently seen in this hill town and small vendors along the street sell local textiles and handicraft.

Time to visit Sa Pa Market where the Red Dao, Black Hmong, Tay , Xa Pho ethnic minority people converge from the surrounding mountainsides or valley to trade their goods and enjoy a walk to some nearby hill tribe villages such as Cat Cat, Lao Chai and Ta Van villages.

08h00: We are picked up at your hotel and then keep going to Halong Bay. On the way, we will stop by a Humanity Center where almost disable children known as Agent Orange affected VIETNAM ADVENTURE PACKAGE IN THE NORTH: HA LONG BAYvictims in the Vietnam war are living & working and contributing to the social development. You will have chance to see how much the war did damage Vietnam & how hard Vietnamese people are surviving.
12.30 We are welcome on the traditional junk and have welcome drink. Start the boat trip to visit Halong Bay, listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. This picturesque “Dragon descending to the sea” Bay has 1,969 limestone islets rising from the sea, many of them containing beautiful grottoes. Visit of a grotto then seafood lunch on board.
The excursion includes the visit to Con Cho Island, Dinh Huong Island, Canh Buom Island, Ga Choi Island. Swimming on Titop or Hoa Cuong beach. Watching sunset. Fishing with seine and owing bamboo boat (on request). If you are unable to do or not interested in joining those kinds of activities, you can stay on the sundeck to relax on your own.

After breakfast, transfer by car to the valley center. We start t to trek mountainsides to Xam Khoe Village. The trekking is difficult at times with some steep uphill and downhill walking, but the views are incredible however some physical preparation will enable you to fully appreciate today's trek. Picnic lunch in a family.
Arrive back to Pom Coong Village in the afternoon.

Day 3 : MAICHAU TREKKING TOUR: MAI CHAU - XA LINH - MAI CHAU (B/L/D)

After breakfast, transfer by car 30km on the destination to Moc Chau. Today we have the opportunities for trekking through Hmong Villages with chance to contact local people.

Day 3: VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Hanoi - Mai Chau Trekking Tour to Hang Kia (B/L/D)

The journey northwards begins as we depart Hanoi and drive through the scenic landscape of rice fields, tea plantation and traditional stilt houses to Mai Chau. This mountainous region is home of many ethnic minority groups including Muong, Hmong, Dao and Thai people. They may be our fellow-passengers since we will use their local footpath in coming expedition. After a lunch at Poong Coom Village near Mai Chau Town, we wind our way for an hour to Xa Linh to begin our trekking. We walk through the breathtaking mountain scenery and some hill villages before arriving at Hang Kia in a picturesque valley of peach orchards. This remote village is conquered by the Hmong hill tribe people. They are very poor, but have an interesting local history and a colorful culture.

Day 4: VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Hang Kia Trekking to Cun Pheo - Homestay in Van Village (B/L/D)

Upon leaving the village of previous night we blaze a trail with our local guide and walk through tropical rain forest to Cun Pheo. The trekking is difficult at times, with some steep uphill and downhill walking; however some physical preparation will enable you to fully appreciate the walk. We pass several villages of the Thai People, and are sure to attract attention since this part of the country receive very few visitors.VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Thai ethnic in Maichau By mid afternoon we reach Van village which is home to the White Thai people. Tonight we are toasted as honored guests of a Thai family and sample some of their homemade foods! The accommodation is very simple and dormitory style, no western facilities but the experience is definitely unique.

Day 5: VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Van - Sam Khoe - Poong Com (B/L/D)

The verdant and rugged mountain scenery combined with the colorful local population make for an unforgettable adventure. Today we continue our trek along the local footpath past many different hilltribe villages and terraced rice fields. A part of the pleasure of our adventure is the simple joy of seeing the scenic mountain scenery and the varied customs of local people. The trekking expedition ends once arriving at the small village of Khoe. We catch a short drive back to Pong Coom village and have time to stroll around , enabling us to understand a little more about the lifestyle of villagers. The perfect way to celebrate your achievement in completing the trek is a traditional music show followed with the local rice wine. This performance is held by the young White Thai minorities, reflecting the rich culture of this ethnic group.

Day 6: VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Mai Chau Travel Adventures to Cuc Phuong (B/L/D)

VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: cuc phuong parkToday we spend our time for a short walk on valley floor surrounded by rice fields and stunning mountain backdrop. Along the way we see many mountaineers doing their daily works such as logging, herding buffalo, tilling the field or weaving brocade. Here is a chance for the shoppers to try their hands at bargaining. Upon leaving Mai Chau we embark on a drive along the winding roads towards Man Duc. There are some possibilities to do a short trekking into the homeland of the Muang ethnic minorities. They have settled there long time ago and make for the main local population. We continue our overland trip to Cuc Phuong National Park and pass through the breathtaking countryside.

Day 7: VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Cuc Phuong - Ninh Binh (B/L/-)

The preserved tropical forests of Cuc Phuong is home to many species of plant and rare animals, some of which we may see on our trek. Today we take a short drive to the parkcenter for a half day walk into the jungle. The local guide will give information on wild herbs and vegetables, and show some flying animals. The rich variety of birth life is also remarkable in this park. We drive back to the park entrance, stopping en route at Nguoi Xua cave which still retains some vestiges of primitive man. The next stop is Hoa Lu. VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Hoa lu- tam coc in Ninh BinhThis ancient capital has left its legacy in form of two temples, the first one dedicated to Dinh Tien Hoang Emperor and the second one to the rulers of the Le Dynasty. We visit these sites and drive a short distance to Ninh Binh Town. The remainder of day is free for your own exploration.

Day 8: VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Ninh Binh - Halong (B/-/-)

Upon leaving Ninh Binh Town, we set off on a short drive to Tam Coc which is surnamed “ Inland Halong Bay”. On arrival we board a sampan for a leisurely trip through the quiet and peaceful landscape of rice fields surrounded by towering limestone cliffs to the grottoes of Tam Coc. The following destination is Halong Bay via a half day drive from Ninh Binh. The journey is long but it is still an interesting day as we travel across the Red River Delta and pass the spectacular rural landscape. En route we can make stop as we please, to stretch our legs and take some wonderful shootings. The thrilling drive will deliver us to Halong Bay by mid or late afternoon depending on traffic conditions.

Day 9: VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Halong Cruise to Cat Ba (B/L/-)

The legendary Ha Long Bay is truly one of Vietnam's most impressive scenic sights. We spend this day out on a boat cruising around Ha Long Bay towards Cat Ba. VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Halong kayakingViews of sailing junks navigating past over 3,000 limestone islands and out crops jutting out of the clear and emerald water of the bay are nothing short of spectacular. These limestone karst formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an interesting visit to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. The extra enjoyment is a wonderful seafood lunch served on board. You spend the rest of time after lunch for your own pleasure; admiring the landscape, lazing around the deck or simply soaking up the sunshine. On arrival in Cat Ba pier we catch a short drive to the town center.

The interesting national park makes Cat Ba a highlight in Vietnam tourist map. Today you have a half free day to explore Cat Ba Island on your own. There are various options to choose from, some of which are biking, kayaking or exploring the national park. These optional activities are not included; however our guide is on hand to advise you with invaluable information. We regroup at our hotel in early afternoon and travel by ferry to Hai Phong, the biggest port town of northern Vietnam. Once arriving in Ha Phong we meet up with our waiting vehicle and drive back to the capital city. Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh cityIn this afternoon, we will have a sightseeing tour of major sights in Ho Chi Minh City. We drive past many lively streets on our way to the Reunification Palace. This mansion was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975. Close to the palace are some striking French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Sai Gon Post Office. We see these before going to the Jade Emperor Pagoda and the War remnant exhibit. The final stop is Ben Thanh Market where anything and everything is for sale!.

Day 2: GRAND VIETNAM ADVENTURE TOUR: FULL DAY TO MY THO + BEN TRE (B/L/-) 

Heading out of town, we travel by roads to the Mekong Delta. This plain region boasts the largest rice bowl of Vietnam. On arrival in My Tho we board a boat navigating around the intricate small canals, which is a great way to observe the local lifestyle close-up and catch a view dotted by many islands. The exciting river trip will pass by the lush green vegetation towards the famous Unicorn Island where we have a chance to stroll around an orchard, taste many seasonal fruits watching bird in Ben tre and see farmers at work. We navigate some narrower canals using small rowing boats to Ben Tre Province for an interesting visit to some local industries. The extra enjoyment is a lunch at one of the famous local eating spots. We drive back to Ho Chi Minh, stopping off en route to see the beautiful Ving Trang Pagoda and the Saigon's Chinatown, locally named Cho Lon. This bustling area is crammed with sacred temples and mysterious, narrow lanes.

The journey northwards begins as we depart Ho Chi Minh and pass through the many tea and coffee plantations to the hill station of Da Lat, sometimes known as the " City of Eternal Spring". The drive is long but views are fantastic all along the way. Once arriving in Da Lat we can soak up the cool climate as much as we want by spending our time to wander around and catch our first glimpse of this town. The influence of the French is evident in local culture and architecture since Da Lat was founded as a hill retreat for the colonials to escape the oppressive heat in the coastal plains and the chaos of Saigon. This charming town is set around a lake and surrounded by forests, waterfalls and rolling countryside.

Day 4: GRAND VIETNAM ADVENTURE TOUR: Da Lat - Nha Trang (B/-/-)

 
Today we enjoy a drive through the charming pine hill to the summer residence of Vietnam’s last Emperor Bao Dai. He was forced to abdicate
Visit Da Lat in Viet Nam in 1945, shortly after the end of the World War II. This mansion displays a lovely collection of Vietnam treasures. We follow it with a trip to the sacred Lam Ty Ni Pagoda and the Hang Nga Guesthouse. This construction is well known as the Crazy House because of its bizarre architecture. The lively central market and the old rail station are also visited before we travel by roads passing through the undulating terrains to the picturesque coastal town of Nha Trang. En route we make stopover at the scenic Ngoan Muc Pass and the Po Klong Jarai Cham Towers. These amazing structures represent an interesting culture and a colorful history of the Cham people in central coast areas.

Day 5: GRAND VIETNAM ADVENTURE TOUR: Nha Trang Diving Tours (B/L/-)

 
The turquoise water surrounding a string of islands and the white sandy beach stretching the Nha trang in Vietnamwhole length of Nha Trang City make it one of Vietnam's premier beach resorts. We board a boat to explore the coastal islands. The aquarium lake is our first stop before we head out to Hon Mun Island. Today we have plenty of time to enjoy swimming and snorkeling on the blue and clear water or simply lazing on a beach. The thrilling boat trip continues towards Hon Tam Island, giving us a choice of various water sports and good restaurant for lunch. By mid afternoon we cruise back to Nha Trang Pier and complete our day with a short city tour. The impressive Ponagar Cham Towers overlooking the colourful fishing port, and the famous Long Son Pagoda are a major part of our sightseeing.

The modern comforts will be left behind as we head the coast towards the Central Highlands and travel via the famous town of Buon Ma Thuat to Lak Lake. This remote area is surrounded by the rugged mountain backdrops and the sleepy hill tribe villages. We enjoy one and half hour elephant ride to explore the rural life and the scenic countryside before transferring to the June village. This night will be spent in traditional long house of a M'nong family . The facilities here lak lake in buon ma thuotare very basic, but it gives us a chance to see the simple lifestyle of the M’nong ethnic minorities and live as many local villagers usually do.

The exciting exploration continues with a short dugout ride around the scenic Lak Lake. Today we have a walking option to discover a nearby village of the M'nong people. This ethnic group has settled here long time ago and made for the main local population. We continue our overland expedition along the central highlands though Vietnam's biggest growing coffee area in Pleiku to Komtum. The deep contrast of lush vegetation and red surface of basaltic soil is incredible all along the way. Once reaching Komtum Town we visit the traditional culture center, the Komtum Seminary, the Wooden Church and the Banar hill tribe village. They are just some of the major attractions in town.

An early morning start to drive towards Hoi An. We pass the beautiful mountainous region on our way to the central coast region. A part of the pleasure of travelling in this region is the simple joyRong House in kon tum of seeing the rice fields and the smiling faces of the people. On arrival in Hoi An we start our sightseeing tour. This delightful town was originally a Cham seaport but has been influenced down the centuries by a myriad of traders from various cultures. There are plenty to see in Hoi An Town, some of which are the famous Japanese Covered Bridges, the Pottery Museum, the 200 years old Tamky House, the Chua Ong Pagoda and the vibrant market. We include these sites in an enchanting walking tour past many low tiled houses scattered along the small streets and assembly halls which reflect the town's multi-cultural past.

The following destination of our trip is Hue. which was once the feudal capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945. Along the way we visit the China Beach , the sensational Marble Mountains and the famous Cham Museum which boasts the largest collection of the Cham treasures in Vietnam. The winding road begins as we make our way up the spectacular Hai Van pass. A view from the top of the pass is one of Vietnam's most impressive panoramic scenes. On arrival in Lang Co, we make a break by the beach for a leisurely swim. The impressive drive will deliver us to Hue by early afternoon. We start seeing Hue with the massive citadel, containing the Imperial City and the Purple Forbidden City. This royal residence was all but destroyed during the 1968 Hoi An Ancient town in Viet namTet Offensive, however it is still fascinating to walk among the ruins.

The beautiful riverside pagoda of Thien Mu is one of the oldest ancient architectural structures for religious work ship in Hue. We include this in a half day cruise on the Perfume River which also gives us a taste of the scenic countryside and an enjoyable visit to the mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang. This impressive landmark is laid in a tranquil setting of gardens and lakes, featuring the beautiful architecture, intricate decor and mysterious statues. Afterwards we drive though the rolling hill to see the elaborate royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc and the famous Tu Hieu Pagoda. After breakfast at hotel, you will take a morning flight to Hanoi.
Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you will be welcome & escorted to the heart of Hanoi. The capital of Vietnam, Hanoi is a stylish and gracious city that retains an unique old world charm and Khai Dinh tomb in Huesome Asia ‘s most striking colonial architecture. The many lakes and parks make for relaxing atmosphere
In this afternoon, we will take a visit to the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam, the History Museum with an excellent collection of artifacts illustrating the Vietnamese history and the outlaying Ethnologic Museum. This gleaming mansion is dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. Afterwards we drive back to the town center to visit Ngoc Son Temple & Hoan Kiem Lake

Day 12: GRAND VIETNAM ADVENTURE TOUR: HANOI — DUONG LAM VILLAGE - MAI CHAU (B/L/D)


In the morning, we start from Hanoi to Duong Lam village, a purely agricultural village of the Northern Red River delta where still preserve many hundred-year-old houses. It will be your unique experience as you walk along tiny ancient alleys; visit Mong Phu Communal House in Mong Phu hamlet - the only hamlet whose original village entrance gate remains intact, Mai chau in vietnamdedicated to national heroes. Have the opportunity to bike in the village and have some talks with the locals in their ancient houses by visiting the ancient houses of Mr Lam, Mr Ha and Mr Huyen. After that, we continue walking to visit Mia Pagoda (other hamlet in Duong Lam village), is built in 15 th century and admire 287 statues of all sizes, among with are famous sculpture such as the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the statues of the Eight Vajra Deities. Then visit Ngo Quyen temple and Phung Hung temple, places dedicated to two national heroes Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung.
Lastly, we will go back a local family to enjoy your special lunch with Vietnamese foods in an ancient house.
At around 14:00, we will keep heading to Mai Chau valley & view sunset behind the hills. After dinner in a family, we have the opportunity to take part to a traditional dance show.

This morning we are going to have a short trekking journey (or bike tour) to some of remote villages of Thai People inhabiting in Mai Chau valley
The journey northwest begins as we depart from Mai Chau and pass through the undulating Son la provineterrains of tea plantations, terraced rice fields and sleepy villages linked to the road which is the main artery of trade between the northwestern region and the capital city. This is our first glimpse of rural Vietnam and sets the tone for the days ahead. En route we have several stops to stretch our legs and visit some roadside villages. The thrilling drive will deliver us in Son La by mid or late afternoon depending on road and traffic conditions. We check in hotel and enjoy a short walk around this mountain town. There is a little traffic on roads and many Black Thai in traditional costume scurry in all directions.

Day 14: GRAND VIETNAM ADVENTURE TOUR: Son La - Dien Bien Phu (B/-/-)


The provincial museum and the top hill old prison are some of major sights in Son La Town. We include these in a short morning tour before we wind our way past the stunning mountain scenery. The road conditions are very poor therefore we need to bring along our spirit of adventure until Dien Bien Phu, the site of the decisive battle in Vietnam's struggle for independence in 1954. Once reaching Dien Dien we drive around to see this fast growing town and make stop at Dien Bien Phu museum which details the event in place. We follow it with a visit to the strategic hill A1 and the old battle field where the lush vegetation grows behind many war relics including old French tanks and artillery pieces. Heading out of Dien Phu Phu Town, we spend a full day travelling into Vietnam's most mountainous region. The roads are difficult at times, but the spectacular landscape with a mixture of terraced fields and colourful local population makes the hardship all worthwhile. Along the way we encounter the mountaineers going about their daily business. These local villagers are almost the Red Hmong, Kho Mu, Mang, Dao people who still retain their age old cultural traditions and wear distinctive costumes. We arrive in Tam Duong by late afternoon and may have time strolling around. This small hill town is surrounded by the breathtaking mountain backdrop and frequently visited by the ethnic minority people. O/N in Tam Duong.

Day 16: GRAND VIETNAM ADVENTURE TOUR: Tam Duong - Sapa (B/-/-)


The breathtaking north scenery is unequalled although the conditions are very basic. Today we continue driving along a zigzag route to Sapa. The road conditions is very poor in some places but it is still a wonderful trip for photograph hunters as we pass though the various scenic water falls, charming villages and rolling mountains. The hill station of Sa Pa was founded in early last century and rapidly became an ideal place for anyone seeking an enjoyable escape from the Tam duong sapaunbearable heat in plains. At an elevation of 1,500 meters, it has some warm days and cool evenings. Today we can soak up the fresh climate as much as you want by spending the time to wander around and catch the first look of Sa Pa. The ethnic minority people are frequently seen in this hill town and small vendors along the street sell local textiles and handicraft.

You will have chance to see how much the war did damage Vietnam & how hard Vietnamese people are surviving.
12.30 We are welcome on the traditional junk and have welcome drink. Start the boat trip to visit Halong Bay, listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. This picturesque “Dragon descending to the sea” Bay has 1,969 limestone islets rising from the sea, many of them containing beautiful grottoes. Visit of a grotto then seafood lunch on board.
The excursion includes the visit to Con Cho Island, Dinh Huong Island, Canh Buom Island, Ga hanoi cycling tour Choi Island. Swimming on Titop or Hoa Cuong beach. Watching sunset. Day 2: SAPA ADVENTURE TOUR: LAOCAI RAILWAYS STATION - SAPA - YLINH HO - LAO CHAI - TAVAN HOMESTAY  PACKAGE (B/L/D)

06h00: Arrive at Lao Cai Railways Station, transfer to Sapa. Breakfast and have a short walk inside the town.
At 10 am: we leave the hotel and start trekking.  The first part is on the road but we soon turn to the right and walk on a small path down the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H’mong village Lao Chai San, Lao Chai. Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. They are proud of their culture and keep their traditions and way of living. They have their own language and wear traditional indigio blue clothing.  After this you continue to Ta Van village (1.200 m) to visit Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of their old customs have been lost but many women still wear traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green colour. The Zay houses are build in wood and bamboo with clay floor. We stay overnight with a local family in Ta Van and have our dinner here.SAPA ADVENTURE TOUR: Y Linh Waterfall in Sa Pa* Trekking distance: 15 km

 

Day 3: SAPA ADVENTURE TOUR: TAVAN TREKKING TOUR TO GIANG TA CHAI - BAN HO (B/L/D)

After the breakfast we continue to visit Red Dao people at Giang Ta Chai where we also see a waterfall. The Red Dao women have very colourful red embroideries and coins on their clothing. On their head they wear a red scarf. Some of the women have shaved off their eyebrows because of a nice Red Zao’ Legend.
We continue along small paths in the rice fields, cross the Muong Hoa River and arrive to the Tay village Ban Ho (900 m). Tay is the most populous of the hill tribes. Because of the development and adaptation to the Vietnamese society some of them have started wearing Vietnamese clothing. But most women still wear the traditional checkered headscarf. We stay overnight in a wooden Tay stilt house. If we reach Ban Ho in the early afternoon you will have time to swim in a nearby river. In the evening we have dinner with the Tay family.

Day 4: SAPA ADVENTURE TOUR: BAN HO HOMESTAY - NAM TOONG - NAM KEN - MUONG BO (B/L/D)

After breakfast you trek up to to the Red Dzao Village at Nam Ken & the Xa Pho the village of Xa SAPA ADVENTURE TOUR: Ban ho village in SapaPho tribe the smalest group in Sapa who have very little contact with modern Vietnam. Overnight in Muong Bo Village of Tay people.

After breakfast you trek up to Ban Den place (10 km). From here you will be picked up and transferred back to Sapa. In the afternoon you will have time to experience the colourful Sapa market where women from different ethnic minority groups come into town to sell their products.
17h00: Transfer back to Lao Cai Railways Station for overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 1: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR Arrival - Ha Noi (-/-/-)

 On arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you are met by our guide and transferred to hotel. The capital of Vietnam, Hanoi is a stylish and gracious city that retains an unique old world charm and some Asia's most striking colonial architecture. The many lakes and parks make for relaxing atmosphere. If time permits we enjoy a cyclo ride through the bustling old quarter streets named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. Day 2: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Hanoi Sightseeing Tour (B/-/-)

 Today we spend a full day exploring Hanoi. The first stop is Ho Chi Minh Complex containing the mausoleum of the nation's founder Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts. Close to this complex is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of city. We follow it with the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam, the History Museum with an excellent collection of artifacts illustrating the Vietnamese history and the outlaying Ethnologic Museum. This gleaming mansion is dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. Afterwards we drive back to the town center , stopping at the Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple. They are major highlights set by the beautiful West Lake. We see these sights before continuing to the peaceful lake of Hoan Kiem with its sacred temple. In front of this lake is the famous water puppet theatre where we will see a fantastic performance.

Day 3: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: HANOI — DUONG LAM VILLAGE TOUR TO MAI CHAU (B/L/D)

 In the morning, we start from Hanoi to Duong Lam village, a purely agricultural village of the Northern Red River delta where still preserve many hundred-year-old houses. It will be your unique experience as you walk along tiny ancient alleys; visit Mong Phu Communal House in Mong Phu hamlet - the only hamlet whose original village entrance gate remains intact, dedicated to national heroes. Have the opportunity to bike in the village and have some talks with the locals in their ancient houses by visiting the ancient houses of Mr Lam, Mr Ha and Mr Huyen. After that, we continue walking to visit Mia Pagoda (other hamlet in Duong Lam village), is built in 15 th century and admire 287 statues of all sizes, among with are famous sculpture such as the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the statues of the Eight Vajra Deities. Then visit Ngo Quyen temple and Phung Hung temple, places dedicated to two national heroes Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung.
Lastly, we will go back a local family to enjoy your special lunch with Vietnamese foods in an ancient house.
At around 14:00, we will keep heading to Mai Chau valley & view sunset behind the hills. mai chau valley After dinner in a family, we have the opportunity to take part to a traditional dance show.

Day 4 : GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Mai Chau Trekking Tour To Xa Linh - Son La (B/-/-)

Upon leaving Mai Chau we travel by roads to Xa Linh. Once arriving we embark on an easy walk past the stunning mountain backdrop and the various roadside villages, home of the Hmong people. They are almost farmers living from their slash and burn tradition however it is very interesting to learn their old age culture. At the end of the walk we meet with our waiting vehicle and continue driving across the undulating terrains of tea plantations and the many sleepy villages to Son La. Along the way we visit the Black Thai ethnic minorities. They belong to the same Thai ethnic group, but are different from the White Thai in Mai Chau by their tradition and costumes.

Day 5: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Son La - Dien Bien Phu (B/-/-)

 Son la provine in the North of VietnamThe provincial museum and the top hill old prison are some of major sights in Son La Town. We include these in a short morning tour before we make our way past the beautiful mountain scenery. The road conditions are very poor therefore we need to bring along our spirit of adventure until Dien Bien Phu, the site of the decisive battle in Vietnam's struggle for independence in 1954. On arrival in Dien Dien we drive around to see this fast growing town and the Dien Bien Phu Museum which details the event in place. We follow it with a visit to the strategic hill A1 and the old battle field where the lush vegetation grows behind many war relics including old French tanks and artillery pieces.

Day 6: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Dien Bien Phu - Lai Chau (B/-/-)

The impressive expedition continues to Lai Chau Town, a base for exploration of the Dien bien phu lai chau viet namsurrounding areas. Along the way we encounter the mountaineers going about their daily business. These local villagers are mainly the Red Hmong, Kho Mu, Mang, Dao people who still retain their old age traditions and wear distinctive costumes. Today we have plenty of time to visit the roadside villages and catch the fantastic photographs on our way to Lai Chau. The major activity in this afternoon is a boat trip along the mighty Da River, passing through the stunning mountain landscapes. The pace is very relaxing, a perfect way to observe the local lifestyle close up.

Day 7: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Lai Chau - Muong Te - Lai Chau (B/-/-)

The mountainous areas surrounding Lai Chau Town is inhabited by a wide array of the ethnic minority groups including Thai, Ha Nhi, Cong , Si La , Lao , Lu and La Hu People. They have settled there longtime ago and made for the main local population. Heading out of town Muong te minorities in Lai Chau - Vietnam we venture into the upstream of the Da River with the next stop being Muang Te. The road conditions are very poor; however the verdant and rugged mountain scenery combined with the colorful local population makes the hardship all worthwhile. En route we stop at some seldom visited villages of Ha Nhi, Cong and Si La people and are sure to attract their attention as this part of the country receive very few visitors.

Day 8:GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Lai Chau - Sin Ho - Tam Duong (B/-/-)

Today we continually wind our way though a high mountainous region to Sin Ho for an interesting exploration of the Red Hmong, Kho Mu and Dao people. These ethnic minorities are almost farmers living from their slash and burn tradition and even speak a different language but our guide are on hand to help you ask questions. The overland trip to Sin Ho is occasionally suspended due to the restriction of the local authority or road conditions especially in wet season. Upon leaving Sin Ho we follow the local tracks to Tam Duong. This small hill town is surrounded by the breathtaking mountain backdrop and frequently Sin Ho Villagevisited by the ethnic minority people.

Day 9: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Tam Duong - Binh Lu - Sapa Aventure Trekking Trips (B/-/-)

The breathtaking north scenery is unequalled although the conditions are very basic. We travel along a zigzag road past many charming villages to Sa Pa. En route we make several stops to visit the Lao and Lu people. These tribal groups have originally settled in remote terrains therefore it may involve some walks to visit their villages. The hill station of Sa Pa was founded in early last century and rapidly became an ideal place for anyone seeking an enjoyable escape from the unbearable heat in plains. At an elevation of 1,500 meters, it has some warm days and cool evenings. After checking into hotel you can soak up the fresh climate as much as you want by spending the time to wander around and catch the first look of this hill station.

Day 10: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Sa Pa – Trekking to Lao Chai & Ta Van Villages (B/-/-)

The mountain range of Phan Si Pan boasts Vietnam's highest peak and lends an alpine feel to Sapa in Lao cai the area surrounding this hill station. Today we visit the bustling Sa Pa Market where the Red Dao, Black Hmong, Tay and Xa Pho ethnic minorities converge from the nearby mountainsides and valleys to trade their goods and buy provisions. Upon leaving Sa Pa Town we embark on a walk, using the local tracks to Lao Chai village, home of the Black H'Mong people. The footpath traverses some terraced rice fields, giving us a chance to see the local villagers doing their daily works such as logging, herding buffalo and tilling the field. We arrive at Ta Van hamlet and visit the Zay ethnic minorities who are very friendly and welcoming.

Day 11: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Sapa - Bat Xat - Lao Cai (B/-/-)

Heading out of town we wind our way towards Bat Xat. The weather is rather cool in place therefore we should bring enough warm clothes. We arrives in Bat Xat after two hour drive and enjoy a rough walk to explore some off road hamlets which are usually littered with mountainsides and terrace rice fields. These villages are populated by the Phu La, Dao and Giay ethnic minorities who are very poor, but have an interesting local culture and a colorful  Bat Xat village in Sapahistory. Today we have plenty of time to explore these rarely seen areas before travelling to Lao Cai. This fast growing border town has not much to see but it is still a necessary stop for next day activities.

Day 12: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Lao Cai - Muong Khuong - Bac Ha ( Sunday) (B/-/-)

The following destination of our trip is Muong Khuong. This remote hill town is famous for the colourful Sunday market. There are various ethnic minority groups including Dao, Phu La, La Chi and Tay but the dominants are the Flower Hmong people. These ethnic minorities are recognisably distinct by their dress and come in town for trade on every Sunday. On arrival we stroll around this colourful congregation to see the different hill tribe groups and their amazing trading way. Upon leaving Muang Khuong we continue our journey to Bac Ha and spend the rest of day for some trekking options. There are several footpaths but we walk from Hmong King's former residence through some corn fields to Ban Pho village where they make the potent local maize alcohol.

Day 13 : GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Bac Ha - Sin Man - Hoang Su Phi - Ha Giang (B/-/-)

Upon leaving Bac Ha we begin our overland adventure to Ha Giang Town. This day is a real challenge as we travel along a winding road with many uphill and down hill drives but views of terraced rice fields littered with rustic houses are nothing short of spectacular. The local tracks pass by Can Cau before crossing over a pass and dropping down to Sin Man Town. En route we encounter the Nung Ing, Tay, Red Dao and La Chi people. They are just some of the many hill tribe groups who have settled in Sin Man and Hoang Su Phi regions. The thrilling drive will deliver us to Ha Giang Town by mid or late afternoon depending on road and traffic conditions.

Day 14: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Ha Giang - Sa Phin - Lung Cu - Dong Van (B/-/-)

The exciting expedition continues to Dong Van, a land of rugged mountains and beautiful hill villages. They are unchanged for centuries despite the modern comfort spreading out in delta region. Today we mainly drive uphill through Quang Ba and Yen Minh to Dong Van stone  Lung Cu in Ha Giangplateau. The former royal house of Hmong King at Sa Phin is a main attraction in place. This stone mansion reflects an interesting history of the Hmong people. We visit the royal house before we set forth to conquer the northernmost tip of Vietnam. On arrival in Luang Cu we stroll around the charming villages of Lo Lo and Hmong minority people. The blend of stunning scenery and colourful local population makes this day an unforgettable experience.

Day 15: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Dong Van - Meo Vac - Ha Giang (B/-/-)

The remoteness and the simple lifestyle of ethnic minorities are a highlight of our expedition although the conditions are very basic. Upon leaving Dong Van Town we embark on a drive along a zigzag road to towards Meo Vac. This secluded mountainous area is conquered by the Lo Lo, Hmong, Dao and Pu Peo people who generally come down to trade their goods and buy provisions on one day of the week. These ethnic minority groups are almost living in Dong Van in Ha Giang high mountainsides therefore it may involve a hard walk to see their villages. Once arriving in Meo Vac we walk around to see the town center and travel by roads via Yen Minh to Ha Giang, using the short cut.

Day 16: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Ha Giang - Cho Ra - Ba Be Lakes (B/-/-)

An early morning start to drive towards Ba Be National Park. These back roads are a great way to explore the real Vietnam. We see very few other travellers, mostly rural dwellers who are just as interested in finding out about our lives as we are of theirs. There are several stops en route to visit the Hmong, Red Dao, Dao Tien and Tay ethnic minorities in Bac Me, Bao Lam, Bao Lac, Tinh Tuc and catch some wonderful photographs. The overland trip from Ha Giang to Ba Be is very long and difficult at times especially in wet season therefore we need to bring along our spirit of adventure.

Day 17: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Ba Be Lakes Adventure Travel Packages to Cao Bang (B/-/-)

Tam Coc in Ninh Binh ProvinceThe wonderful relaxing time begins as we board a boat in Cho Ra and cruise along the tranquil Nang River down to the scenic Ba Be lakes. This legendary lake is just one continuous water body although the name means "three lakes". Along the way we make some stops to visit the Poung Cave, the Tay hill tribe villages, the primitive jungle and the scenic Dau Dang Waterfall. Upon leaving this sight we cross the main lake towards the boat pier. Here we meet up with our vehicle and travel along a winding road to Cao Bang past the spectacular mountain backdrops.

Day 18: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Cao Bang - Pac Po Caves - Lang Son (B/-/-)

Heading out of town we make our way north to Pac Po Cave. This famous history site was once the headquarter for the August Vietnamese Revolution in 1945. We visit this spectacular setting of stream and cave before we spend a half day traveling to Lang Son past the many charming villages and the tranquil town of Dong Khe and That Khe. They are some  pacbo caves in Cao Banghistorical vestiges of the war time. The thrilling drive will deliver us to Lang Son by late afternoon. This border town had been all destroyed during the recent Sino - Vietnamese war, but was rebuilt to become an important trade center in north eastern region.

Day 19: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Lang Son - Ha Long (B/-/-)

The lively central market and the legendary Tam Thanh Cave are some major sights in Lang Son Town. We include these in a short morning tour before we depart for Halong Bay. The road conditions are poor in some places but it is still a wonderful trip for photograph hunters as we pass through the rolling hills, charming villages and lush vegetation. The spectacular landscape changing from the mountain region to the costal plains boasts one of the best scenes in Asia. Along the way we venture into local tracks some times to see the Tay, Nung and San Diu hill tribe people and are sure to attract their attention as this part of the country receive very few visitors. On arrival in Halong we spend the rest of day to relax by the beach.

Day 20: GRAND NORTHERN VIETNAM ADVENTURE AND TREKKING TOUR: Ha Long Cruises - Hanoi (B/L/-)

The legendary Halong Bay is truly one of Vietnam's most impressive scenic sights. We embark a traditional boat for a five hour trip around Halong Bay. This exciting cruise provides us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. These limestone karst formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. We round off our excursion with a seafood lunch served on board and make our way back to Ha Noi, stopping en route to see Dong Trieu pottery village.
